Video: The Importance of EV Efficiency with Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson

One of the more vocal proponents of EV efficiency is Lucid CTO and CEO Peter Rawlinson. With a deep history in the world of EVs including being an integral part of the team that brought the Tesla Model S to market, Rawlinson has made it his and his company's mission to squeeze as many miles out of an EVs battery as possible. 

On the heels of Lucid announcing that its Lucid Air Pure was capable of traveling five miles per kWh, SAE had the opportunity to sit down with the Lucid CEO to talk about the feat of engineering. Rawlinson also discussed the company's next goal of reaching six miles per kWh, how charging should be measured, and how the miles per kilowatt hour measurement makes more sense than MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) and actually lines up with our understanding of gas-powered vehicle efficiency.
