The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for two full-time tenure-track or tenured positions in the area of Data Science.  Depending on qualifications, applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of assistant, associate, and full professor levels. These positions are 9-month academic appointments with the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon the need and availability of funds beginning fall of 2024.  Areas of interest include all subareas of data science, broadly defined.  

The successful applicant will be required to teach, advise and mentor graduate students, develop an independent, externally funded research program, participate in all aspects of the department’s activities, and serve the profession. 

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Texas A&M is currently one of 15 departments in the College of Engineering.  Many of the 51 tenured/tenure-track faculty and 27 teaching-focused faculty hold a number of national distinctions, including ACM, IEEE, AAAS, SIAM Fellows, and ACM Distinguished Scientists and Engineers. The department has a strong and vibrant research program, with half the faculty having received NSF CAREER awards. CSE faculty have strong collaborations with the Center for Remote Health Technologies and SystemsInstitute of Data ScienceGlobal Cyber Research InstituteCybersecurity Center, and Bush Combat Development Complex. Our student population comprises over 1,500 undergraduate students (sophomore to senior level) and nearly 600 graduate students. The department is housed in the recently renovated Peterson Building, with airy modern offices, conference rooms, and lounges equipped with state-of-the-art A/V technology. Qualifications: Applicants must have earned a doctorate in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field.
