Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar field (BS level) with minimum 5 years of experience with High Voltage power conversion systems.

Hands-on experience developing and testing vehicle charging or other High Voltage power conversion systems. (Experience with EV charging systems, connectors, and cables is preferred).

Proficiency in defining tests, setting up, and working with laboratory tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators etc.) on high power AC and DC equipment.

Experience with safety and other EVC related standards (UL, IEC, NFPA, NTEP, FCC, SAE, CCS, CHAdeMO, OCPP, etc.)

Prefer experience with charging systems communication/control protocols (CAN, PLC, ISO)

Nice to Have Skills and Experience

MS Office (Word, Excel), E-mail, Data-base usage

Can start and complete assigned tasks/projects independently with the ability to productively function in a team (interaction with team members, engineering, operations, customers)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Available for occasional travel

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Hardware Quality Staff Engineer that Leads specification and implementation of EVC related test equipment and procedures for the engineering laboratory including safety protocols for High Voltage equipment. Contributes to new EVC product development by verifying that product operates as specified and is compliant with relevant standards. Provides technical expertise in testing and product knowledge. Diagnoses issues with existing products through testing. Provides accurate estimates and reports of test progress and feedback to the design team.

Develop broad knowledge of DFS electronic, hardware and mechanical components and products related to EVC.

Lead EVC product compliance & performance testing (project based) for hardware, mechanical, and software systems during and after the development phase.

Define EVC test requirements and implement test equipment and procedures including safety protocols for High Voltage equipment.

Design and build electromechanical test fixtures (hardware, software and operating environments).

Create test plans, perform tests, and report results for EVC products.

Understand and perform regulatory test procedures and submit reports under the CTDP program.

Participate in product development and quality initiatives.

Support to R&D, Marketing, and Operations. Provide technical expertise on specific products, operating systems and specialized environments.
