Job Description
Coffman Engineers is seeking an Energy/Electric Utility Engineer for our Anchorage office. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, energetic team player with 4+ years of engineering experience in vertical construction, alternative energy (wind, solar, battery storage, etc.) or electric utility sectors. Coffman's office offers a small firm work environment with large firm opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have experience in planning level and detailed engineering for a variety of projects involving electric utilities, which may include:
Energy modeling,
Liquid and gaseous fuels (diesel, natural gas, LNG, hydrogen),
Electrical system modeling,
Generator and breaker controls,
Heat recovery and combined heat and power (CHP) systems,
HVAC system design and controls,
Renewable energy systems,
Battery energy storage facilities,
Microgrids.
In this role you will support multi-faceted, multi-discipline projects in the electric utility, industrial, government and private commercial sectors and should have experience working in a team of engineers, operators and other stakeholders. Your past experiences will include performing engineering calculations, developing engineering designs, and writing technical reports. Our engineers support project management, in addition to technical work.
