Title: Senior Front Office IT Developer
Mercuria is a major player in the Physical and Financial Global Commodity markets, with major trading centers in London, Geneva, Houston, Singapore, Shanghai and Beijing. We actively trade in all the major commodity asset classes, from crude and refined oil products, to power & gas, LNG, coal and emissions, through to freight, metals, and agricultural products.
We operate a global diversified technology team across key hubs such as Geneva, London, Houston and Singapore, while operating in close partnership with some strategic co-development centers in Bucharest, Bangalore and Hyderabad. All teams run an Agile delivery model in unison with our business partners to deliver multi-asset-class commodity systems, with a focus on automation, user experience, optimization, innovation and control.

We are looking for a hands-on IT Developer with experience in the Power & Gas Commodity markets of North America. You will work on full stack applications to support Front Office Trading across commodities and must be passionate about technology with experience developing enterprise-wide solutions.
You will need to partner with end-users to understand process, requirements and analyze problems to design solutions and ultimately deliver tangible business value & benefit.

Key responsibilities
- Responsible for development and operations of Front Office applications, data warehouse hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Deliver technical solutions to evolve our trading platforms and solve business problems. This involves requirements gathering, identifying priorities, planning tasks and on-time delivery of solutions.
- Work with our internal staff and 3rd party IT consulting teams situated across the geographical locations to ensure solutions meets requirements and delivery projects on time.
- Lead operational excellence evolution: monitoring, alerting, predictive operations.
- Interact closely with global development teams on organization technology needs.
- Represent and promote Mercuria IT, both internally and externally
Skill and Experience
- BS or MS in Computer Science or relevant experience.
- 10+ years' experience developing enterprise applications.
- Power & Gas Commodities background is a plus.
- Strong Python, Dash knowledge and development expertise.
- Strong UI development.
- AWS experience - RDS, Lambda, EC2, S3, VPC, SageMaker, ECR, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Athena, API Gateway, SQS, SNS.
- SQL/PLSQL and relational database experience - SQL Server, Snowflake MySQL, PostgresSQL.
- Building RESTful APIs, JSON.
- DevOps best practices using tools like GitLab, CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes.
- iOS development is a plus.
- Linux/unix skills is a plus.
- Strong ability to lead and deliver projects to successful completion.
- Excellent context switcher and ability to multi-task.
- Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.
- Analytical and critical thinking with ability to problem solve complex issues
- Proven ability to rapidly solve business problems via lean/agile solution delivery methods.
