Basic Job Functions:

C.H.I. Overhead Doors is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to help us in meeting our goals for 2023 and beyond. The Mechanical Engineer will perform engineering duties in planning and designing residential/commercial garage doors, hardware components, and other infrastructure. This role works collaboratively with internal and external customers, industry and building products experts, and other resources to develop these products and processes for the organization.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of products, equipment, components, or systems.
  • Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications, and necessity of modification.
  • Estimate component, capital and manufacturing costs for product designs.
  • Evaluate mechanical designs or prototypes for energy performance or environmental impact.
  • Design Documentation - Modeling; Drawings; Mfg. Cut Lists and Nestings; Bill of Materials; QC Forms; Operator's, Maintenance, Parts, Etc. Manuals (Detail Oriented).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Mechanical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MS Office, and Adobe applications
  • Experience in Engineering Documentation Revisions (Drawings, Cut Lists/Nests, BOM"s, Manuals), Truck Evaluation and Machine Mounting Drawings, Emissions Regs - Flex Reporting, Parts & Pricing - Annual parts price review/updates, spare parts list generation
