Overview

We are seeking a qualified Process Engineer to join our Stryten Energy team and take charge of optimizing our battery manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both mechanical and electrical engineering, enabling them to contribute valuable insights to enhance our operations. They will be responsible for understanding the big picture business needs and devising practical solutions to drive profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize and streamline battery manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Utilize AutoCAD design to manufacturing software for design improvements and innovations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and be a strong verbal communicator to effectively convey ideas and findings.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word to present data and reports to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills to identify and address process bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and implement innovative solutions.
  • Design the standards, optimize, and guide the strategic path forward for mechanical equipment design and standards.
  • Process Engineer is the go-to person for critical troubleshooting events, new process improvement recommendations and design improvements.
  • Develop theoretical models and finite element analysis, implement improved mechanical interfaces increasing our process reliability and our process capability.
  • Understand the intent of our process', mechanical best practices, and manufacturing flow at our facilities and the roles of manufacturing team.
  • Coach and drive incremental expertise of our onsite process engineering staff and improve our process documentation.
  • Ability to handle lead, and lead acid batteries.
  • Take ownership of the mechanical interfaces and best practices at each facility.
  • Improve uptime via improved spare part recommendations and improved mechanical design.
  • Increase production speed at the current quality requirements and uptime.
  • Complete finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Ability to foster strong relationship with members of the operations team and vendors.
  • Able to work at all levels across the organization.
  • Ability to grow your personal knowledge and technical ability.
  • Collaboratively lead the organization, with the support of the IT function in a strategy around IOT and Industry 4.

Qualifications

Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Mechanical Engineer preferred.
  • 2000 hours with AutoCAD.
  • Prior manufacturing experience is a plus, especially in battery manufacturing.

About the work environment:
  • You must be able to work inside or outside the plant environment and in all climate conditions. You may occasionally be exposed to lead, fume, noise, dirt, hazards, chemicals, heat and cold.
  • You must be able to see, hear and speak; able to sit, stand for at least two hours at a time, sit, bend, crawl, squat, kneel and climb able to use both arms and hands to use a computer and peripherals and lift 40 pounds from floor level, able to work below ground level in confined spaces and on stationary or mobile elevated platforms, able to wear respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, able to climb stairs.
  • Expect 20% travel.
