Job Responsibilities :

Provide engineering support to develop (or manage) and execute technical aspects of the Battery Management System (BMS) Release Engineering. Engineering support areas and general expectations are listed below.

Lead a Product Development Team for one or multiple BMS programs to ensure the battery is safe and meets all BMS feature and communication requirements.

Lead interface for the BMS supporting the Battery Pack DRE, Chief Engineer and Family Manager on Project Status.

Work with EE Team for hardware and software development deliverables to ensure they will meet core automotive specifications.

Ensure compliance to standards, battery pack performance and battery legislative needs.

Work with BMS Systems and Architecture Team for hardware and software development requirements deployment to BMS programs.

Coordinate SOX Requirements.

Track Verification and Validation Progress.

Track Software and Hardware Changes and Issues to closure.

Provide reports and summaries throughout the program and for key issues to leadership.

Coordinate company and supplier Component Design Reviews and DFMEA's.

Lead technical interface for the BMS into battery packs and vehicles.

Work cross organization and functionally to verify battery software and hardware meet the system needs and battery pack requirements.

Deploy update and maintain current North America BMS functional software (SW) and hardware (HW) requirements in terms of battery applications (BEV, PHEV/MHEV)

Document company Lessons Learned to improve BMS requirements and process es

Lead source package technical reviews and compliance analysis.

Support as defined the Quality Gate milestones per Propulsion Systems Development Plan (PSDP).

Lead component DFMEA's.

Support the validation and test teams with testing and analysis of issues.

Deploy and facilitate EOL programming and support for BMS programs.

Collaborate with BMS systems Architect, BMS Systems and SME (Subject Matter Expert) engineers to clarify BMS SW and HW requirements.

Provide technical clarification of designs with suppliers and manufacturing.

Support component DFMEA's.

Work cross functionally to verify BMS electronics and SW are meet all customer needs.

Support BMS engineering and management in program execution duties.

Technical Skills :

Must have demonstrated technical expertise and competencies in Automotive Battery Systems.

Experience with software development, diagnostics and data analysis tools (e.g., HIL testers, CANalyzer, INCA, etc.).

Familiar with a disciplined system development process based on ASPICE or CMMI model.

Knowledge of automotive ECU test methods and procedures.

Knowledge of electrical components used in BMS.

Experience with BEV, HEV, MHEV, and PHEV vehicle programs.

Proficiency with: CANalyzer, Inca, CDA, MS Project
