COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $98,537 to $135,504. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
Michael Baker International seeks a motivated project manager to join our growing Transportation and Sustainability Planning Group in Baltimore, Maryland. We are looking for an energetic, talented, and technically oriented project manager to identify, oversee, and support the completion of projects providing sustainability, climate action, resiliency, grant development, economic analyses, and planning services for a diverse set of clients. The ideal candidate will:
- Possess demonstrable experience working with state departments of transportation, local governments, the US Department of Transportation, the US Department of Energy, and / or the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation.
- Have led local and regional climate, sustainability, National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI), air quality, or transportation and environmental planning efforts.
- Provide direct support to senior project managers on a wide range of planning tasks and projects.
- Review project proposals or plans to determine scope, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects.
- Develop / implement project plans / methodologies for single discipline projects.
- Confer with project staff to outline workplans and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scopes of authority.
- Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progress is on schedule and within the prescribed budget.
- Provide business development support to senior leadership.
- Conduct research and lead analytical reports.
- Develop clear and concise written plans, presentations, and reports.
- Collaborate and coordinate with a diverse group of clients and stakeholders.
- Have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and assess priorities as needed.
- Look to constantly expand their technical and professional knowledge and experience.
- Thrive in a team environment while also exercising independent initiative and judgment.
- Possess familiarity with state and federal grant processes, legislative requirements, and associated guidance documents.
- Possess outstanding organizational and technical writing ability, as well as excellent oral communication skills.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- 7-10 years of experience managing sustainability, climate change mitigation, resiliency, and / or vehicle electrification tasks at the community, local, state, and / or federal government levels.
- American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), and / or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and ArcGIS. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign). Experience with GIS and programming language (VB. and Python) preferred.
- Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
- Ability to self-motivate and productively work with limited supervision.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
