Job Description

Select Chemistry is seeking a motivated professional with innovative thinking and strong technical background. The individual will work in a diverse and multidisciplinary team, developing novel technologies and products for our customers.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to


  • Develop and implement novel testing methods for completion and enhanced production chemicals.

  • Set up and conduct lab experiments, develop experimental protocols and workflows to identify cost-effective solutions to individual projects.

  • Problem solver and problem troubleshooting expertise.

  • Contribute to routine laboratory housekeeping and day-to-day functions of the R&D laboratory.

  • Collaborate with the senior staff to meet business goals.

  • Maintain a safety practice in work environment.

  • Ability to develop/adopt, implement, and manage standardized product performance testing.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

    • Advanced degree is a plus.



  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an R&D lab in industry or academia.

  • Experience with characterization tools including ICP, Chromatography, FTIR, UV-VIS, and general Wet Chemistry methodologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to be organized, flexible and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Exhibit ability to be a strong team player.

  • Possess excellent written and verbal skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Mechanical Aptitude.

  • Strong analytical and computer skills.

  • Hands-on experience in high-temperature-high-pressure equipment.

Physical Demands and Exposures


  • This position works inside a climate-controlled environment. The Company will supply adequate training and equipment to perform the functions of the job.

  • Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.

  • Involves sitting at a desk for extended periods of time.

  • Needs high degree of concentration in a busy area.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
