Overview
The Supervisor is responsible for supervision and development of production employees to meet the production schedule for customer orders.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Able to see, hear and speak; able to sit, stand for at least two hours at a time, sit, bend, craw, squat, kneel and climb able to use both arms and hands to use a computer and peripherals and lift 40 pounds from floor level, able to work below ground level in confined spaces and on stationary or mobile elevated platforms, able to wear respirator and other PPE as required, able to climb stairs. Able to work extended shifts and weekends as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Able to work inside or outside the plant environment and in all climate conditions. Exposed to lead, fumes, chemicals, operating equipment, and vehicles.

Responsibilities

- Follow "Leader Standard Work" to ensure daily, weekly and monthly tasks are complete
- Directs and supervises all employees and production in the assigned area
- Maintains production and quality standards as directed by plant manager
- Checks and maintains production reports and enters production into JDE daily
- Meets daily with employees to ensure good communication is maintained on all issues in department and the plant
- Completes production and scrap reporting
- Reports any shortages of supplies or equipment required for daily operations
- Schedules employees assigned to area
- Trains, instructs and supervises new employees on job operations, until employees meet job requirements
- Evaluates employee's job performance in relation to established production standards
- Counsels employees on job performance, safety/health, absenteeism, tardiness, and disciplinary issues
- Mentor associates and team leads
- Participate and or leads in training, development, and certification programs
- Ensures all employees follow health and safety guidelines and wears proper PPE in department
- Responsible for working with employees to reduce their blood lead and eliminate accidents within departments
- Checks and verifies employee's time in the Kronos Timekeeping system for accuracy prior to approving for weekly payroll processing
- Participates and supports Lean programs in department and the plant
- Performs whatever other responsibilities and duties that are assigned by manager.
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- AB/BS degree preferred or equivalent experience
- 3 to 5 years supervisory experience in a production manufacturing environment
- Trained in team building with effective communication skills, written and verbal
- Great leadership ability
- Good computer skills including use of Word, Excel, Power Point and other software
- Good communications, interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions on the work that needs to be performed
- Understanding of basic process and product flow in order to trouble shoot and pinpoint areas requiring problem solving
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to interpret company policies and procedures
