Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints, computer-generated reports, or technical drawings.
- Must be an adaptable and detail oriented, problem solver with excellent software skills who enjoys new challenges every day.
- Responsible for the development of engineering instructions using manufacturing engineering practices.
- Participate in concurrent engineering design reviews.
- Evaluate and approve drawings, routings, specs, and other documents.
- Design, develop, and test models to assess feasibility, performance, and sustainability.
- Design and procure tools/equipment.
- Develop production assembly solutions that ensure product quality and customer satisfaction are consistently exceeded.
- Evaluate and solve production problems. Provide technical feedback/customer service.
- Train assemblers or conduct training to introduce new processes.
- Prepare/manufacture prototypes as required utilizing the principles of concurrent engineering.
- Evaluate prototypes for energy performance and recommend design modifications.
- Experience with process planning, scheduling and the justification of equipment and tooling is important.
- Must have a metrics-driven continuous improvement mindset.
- Evaluate facility mechanical designs - heating, cooling, ventilation - and recommend solutions to improve energy efficiency.
- Must excel working in a team environment as well as thrive as an individual contributor with minimal supervision.
Mechanical Engineer Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or related fields is required.
- 3-5 years' experience required.
- Ability to work fluently with Microsoft Office and MRP Systems is required.
- Excellent time management, problem prevention and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in metal fabrication is required.
- Must be a goal-driven and team-oriented engineer ready to contribute meaningful and measurable continuous improvement strategies to manufacturing systems and processes.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Computer-Aided Design, Stress Analysis is highly preferred
