This field is rapidly becoming spotlighted as a method to ensure successful execution on large capital projects. Working locations can be either Houston, TX or Allentown, PA. Hybrid work schedules are available. Travel requirements are expected to be under 40% both domestic and international.
In this position, you will work as the Deputy Regional Manager to support the Americas Modularization team. The day to day responsibilities will include those of a working manager with responsibilities aligned with a Module Program Manager. This Module Program Manager role will build skillsets in modularization specific to Air Products technology and learnings which can be applied to various Projects in the Americas. The Deputy Regional Manager responsibilities will focus on support which is necessary for the Americas Modularization team project success, hiring, onboarding, performance development, and retention. It is the intent that this Deputy Regional Manager role can substitute for the Regional Manager of the Americas as the need requires and as part of the career development plan.
This role reports through the Global Modularization team and involves participation with other global counterparts to ensure consistency and sharing of best practices on capital projects. You will be the contact for regional new project developments and strategies associated with modularization. The Deputy Regional Manager will be asked to join new proposal kickoffs and assess how to develop resource support and strategies for new opportunities or products.
A collaborative working relationship across Project Management, PEM, Engineering, Logistics, Construction, Procurement and Quality teams must be ensured.Principal accountabilities
Co-Leading a regional team that guides modularization planning requiring cross-functional coordination comprising of Engineers, Designers, Logistics, Subcontract, and Construction leads through strategic planning for modularized solutions.
Ensuring that modularization strategies are well defined for project execution.
Providing technical guidance for optimized module layout and engineering assumptions.
Lead the module proposal basis of a Project and deliver to basic engineering and detailed design.
Proactive planning of schedule and engineering deliverables to prepare for RFP package for module yards.
Module yard prequalification and fabrication oversight after contract award.
Ensure the overall module schedule meets the engineering, material, and fabrication milestones to meet the overall construction schedule.
Ensuring that the module team
Leads internal and external changes and accurately forecasts module budget.
Delivers defined scope, cost, and quality of the modules and facilitates a seamless interface for the job site until mechanical completion.
Works with logistics leads to ensure the module envelopes, quantities, and priorities are well defined at the earliest phase of the project and updated as the design progresses.
Demonstrates and leads Safety culture at fabrication yard.
Records the lessons from ongoing projects and implement lessons in next projects.
Leads project close-out and systematic handover for execution during warranty phase.Critical Proficiencies
Execution experience in modularization design and construction for projects ranging between $50MM and +$5BN.
Demonstrated experience overseeing small, medium, and large process unit modules and pipe rack modules throughout stages of conceptual planning, detail engineering, fabrication, logistics, heavy lift, and setting at site.
Knowledge and interface with modularization yards around fabrication schedule planning.
Strong influencing, communication (written and verbal) and facilitative skills, including cross cultures and geographies.
Ability to bring teams together to achieve targets and goals.
Desire to work on challenging opportunities and tasked with varying responsibilities and frequent travel.
Thorough understanding of modularization related market and industry development.
Proficient in Project Execution and Risk Management.Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelors in engineering or construction management
15+ years of relevant experience in module and construction execution in the fields of Industrial Gases, Oil, Chemicals or Energy industries is required.
Experience leading a large team of engineer and design professionals.
Experience Leading a team of modularization and construction professionals.
Experience working with engineers and designers during modularization concept and planning.
Consistent track record managing a portfolio of projects of varying complexities.
Deep knowledge of module engineering and fabrication processes and lessons learned.
Cross-functional knowledge of Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, Planning, and Yard Fabrication of modularized projects.
Experience in a module yard during fabrication as well as at site during installation is required.
Experience in interfacing with Proposal Development, Project Management, Project Controls, Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, and Quality Teams.
Communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with and influence people with positivity from all cultures and at all organizational levels, inside and outside of Air Products
