Roles and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Contract Specialist Green and Blue Hydrogen and Ammonia within our Global Strategic Sourcing team located in Buffalo, NY. This position requires 15% domestic / global travel. Travel will be required for this position both short & long business trips of 1 or 2 weeks periodically throughout the year.
This team is primarily responsible for the contracting of key technologies like electrolyzers, ammonia synthesis & dissociation, jetties, and storage tanks among others.
The contract specialist will be required to develop, negotiate, implement, and manage competitively advantageous contracts for key strategic technologies within the Global Corporate & Strategic Sourcing organization of the company.
Responsible to bring to fruition the strategies of the team by contracting with viable technology providers (licensors), EPC, or EPCMs and ensuring their compliance to the contracts to improve Air Products' competitiveness and enable world-class project execution.
Required Skills / Abilities:
Proven experience of minimum 5 years is required.
Prior experience in awarding and managing engineering, licensing, EPC and EPCM is a must.
The candidate must also possess both contract formation and contract management skills.
They will need to have the knowledge, experience, and ability to influence program or project teams, and business stakeholders to meet established contracting goals and objectives.
The individual will be encouraged to support commercial negotiations including terms & conditions, pricing, and schedule.
They will be encouraged to understand, formulate, and negotiate the pre-award RFP and contract components such as scope of work for each technology, technical specifications, commercial practices, operating practices, and business processes with a focus on driving cost reduction initiatives.
They will understand and promote relationship management including the development and tracking of Key Performance Indictors (KPIs) and continuous improvement practices to retain the value gained through the pre-award process.
Strong sourcing, organizational, written, and negotiating skills are required.
Individual is encouraged to bring expertise in managing risks as a primary commercial advisor.
Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information, across cultures and organizations is a key success factor.
Proficiency with the Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, One Note) and knowledge of SAP and requisition to pay processes.
Education Requirements:
Bachelors degree in engineering, supply chain, business administration or construction related fields with experience and proven track record in contracting for engineering, licensing, EPC and EPCM services. MBA is advantageous.
5-years of contracts experience in an Industrial Gas, EPC, Oil & Gas or Technology company.
Excellent oral and written English proficiency is a must. Second language is advantageous.
The expected pay range is $93,350 - $140,050 plus bonus. This is the range that we reasonably expect to pay for this position as individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
