Job Description
Senior Radar Systems Engineer
ElbitAmerica has a need for a Radar Systems Engineer supporting the architecture, design, implementation, integration, and verification of some of the most advanced multi-functional RF sensors and remote sensing applications. Key modes of operation include synthetic aperture radar for ground imaging applications, electronic protection to defeat the most advanced adversaries' electronic attack, long-range search, and track waveforms to provide critical situational awareness to our customers. Daily activities may consist of requirements development, trade studies, algorithm design, MATLAB simulations, waveform design, signal processing, performance analysis, product demonstrations and testing.
Roles and Responsibilities
Develop parametric representations, visualizations, and data-driven analyses to support sensor requirements definition and use-case validation, including waveform and signal processing implementation
Develop models and simulations in MATLAB, Python or C++ to perform radar computations, validate design choices, and troubleshoot integration findings
Work closely withy Software Engineers and System Integration and Test Engineers to complete software/system/hardware integration and performance verification progressing in digital simulation environments, radar labs, and our on-site System Integration Lab (SIL)
Engage with our customers to balance functional and performance requirements with other sensor functionality to enable true multi-function operation
Work with general oversight from more experienced engineers and mentors to independently apply physics and other concepts to solve technical challenges and complex problems related to Radar and RF systems
Frequently interface across disciplines and organizational boundaries, as well as with customers through presentations and working group meetings
Experience performing FMEA, requirements development, RF design, transmitter design, engineering drawings, root cause analysis, radar performance evaluation and calculations, and radar modeling
Participate in live radar testing and analyze recorded data to gain insights into performance and identify problems that impact meeting mission requirements
Study advanced radar performance using detailed physics-based simulations.
Develop algorithms to improve performance using recorded and modeled data.
As a Senior Radar System Engineer, you will:
Creatively apply our technical skills to identify and solve problems
Apply signal and data processing tools, including machine learning, to large data sets to develop novel algorithms
Investigate and address problems due to emergent phenomenology
Present analysis to sponsors or prime contractors to advise and guide program direction
Develop tasking to address future program needs in collaboration with program managers
Support multi-disciplinary teams in the innovation, development, and evaluation of advanced capability radar systems
Have opportunities to work with and learn from community experts wile developing new systems
Perform requirements analysis, system modeling, development, verification, and testing, ensuring system requirements satisfaction
Update and utilize toolsets to generation, manipulate and test system data
Take on increasing ownership and maturation of complex models used to desing, test and optimize system performance
Work with electronic warfare, electronic countermeasures, X-band Signal
