MECHANICAL ENGINEER - Electrification Stacks
Location: Reading, PA
THE MECHANICAL ENGINEER (Electrification Stacks) WILL
- Support development and production of the Electrification Stack making process. Liaise with technical and engineering groups, external specialists and contractors, to design and coordinate manufacturing of Electrification Stacks.
- Develop and document design of parts and fixtures pertaining to Electrification Stacks.
- Support manufacturing and prototype testing with technical and engineering staff and external specialists and contractors.
- Maintain a well-organized, safe and secure work area associates with Electrification Stacks programs, including operational and personal workspace.
- Analyse key process measures and develop appropriate corrective actions.
- Support implementation of solutions to equipment safety and quality issues.
- Provide technical assistance and an interface function on process, product, and maintenance problems.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MECHANICAL ENGINEER
- Four-year college degree in Mechanical Engineering required. Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience industrial engineering. Preference given to candidates with experience in processing, equipment design, fixture design, manufacture and testing.
- Specialized knowledge of electro-mechanical engineering and design; principles, standards, methods and practices, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and SPC
- Knowledge of lamination stacking processing equipment is preferred.
- Our ideal candidate will have experience in any of the following areas: Fixture Design, Metal Stamping, Machine Design, Mechanical Design, CAD, Stress Analysis (FEM), Physical Metallurgy or Automation.
- Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, project management skills and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to solve moderately complex problems, taking a new perspective on existing solutions. Conduct detailed technical literature reviews and understand technical drawings.
- Requires the ability to be well organized and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions, work with moderate supervision.
- Ability to access R&D pilot and mill manufacturing areas, support manufacturing development activity and support safety and operational requirements.
- Ability to travel to other company sites when needed.
