Our Client, a Scaling Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Company, has dedicated the past decade to designing and developing electrified trucks and platforms for commercial applications. Now, as they prepare for the launch, production, and large-scale manufacturing of their vehicles, they are seeking a talented Controls Software Engineer.
As a Controls Software Engineer, you will have the responsibility of developing requirements while also managing Tier 1 suppliers for Body, Vehicle, and Gateway controls for commercial and consumer vehicle platforms. Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 P/A - Negotiable on experience

Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing software and system requirements.
- Demonstrates a hands-on and detail-oriented approach.
- Proficient in MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow chart.
- Knowledgeable about CAN-Bus, LIN, and Ethernet communication protocols.
- Manages Tier 1 suppliers of major ECUs.
- Develops unique solutions for various control problems in the Body, Vehicle, and Gateway Control Domains.
- Comfortable working in PHEV and BEV vehicle environments.
- Actively engages with design engineering teams to develop solutions for urgent product issues.
- Familiarity with High Voltage EE system development and vehicle integration.
- Identifies and executes process improvements based on previous build and test data.
- Troubleshoots vehicle controls issues throughout the duration of testing and production.
- Possesses excellent communication, team building, and relationship-building skills.
- Utilizes methods like 8D, five whys, and fishbone processes to diagnose complex issues.
- Adheres to industry standards such as FMVSSS, NHTSA, DOT, NFPA, SAE, NEC, etc.
- Manages, documents, and enhances software products and their implementation.
- Works alongside technical leadership to organize technical roadmaps into achievable work.
- Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team.
Skills and experience
- A Bachelor's degree in electrical and electronics or Computer Software Engineering, or an equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited or equivalent program, is preferred.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.
- Experience working on a variety of automotive controls, such as ECU, CCM, BCM, PCM, TCU, BMS, SCM.
- Possesses a strong understanding of automotive OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) hardware and software requirements.
- Knowledge of ISO26262 standards
- Demonstrates a proactive approach, a proven track record in leadership, effective communication, and presentation skills.
- Exhibits strong leadership skills and a background in supervisory roles.
- Capable of performing well under pressure and consistently meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in multitasking across various assignments and coordinating testing on multiple vehicles.
- Demonstrates strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Holds experience in vehicle engineering and familiarity with vehicle component design, development, and manufacturing.
- Proficient in software validation test procedures and standards.
- Possesses knowledge of electrical system design and manufacturing.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and identifying root causes of electrical systems issues.
