Styrten Energy in Kansas City, Kansas is hiring for a Production Supervisor. The Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and development of the employees to meet the production schedule for customer orders.
This Production Supervisor will work 3rd shift - and supervise the Tubular line.
Responsibilities
- Follow "Leader Standard Work" to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly tasks are complete
- Directs and supervises all employees and production in the assigned area
- Maintains production standards as directed by the plant manager
- Checks and maintains production reports and enters production into JDE daily
- Meets daily with employees to ensure good communication is maintained on all issues in the department and the plant.
- Completes production and scrap reporting
- Reports any shortages of supplies or equipment required for daily operations
- Schedules employees assigned to the area.
- Trains, instructs, and supervises new employees on job operations until employees meet job requirements
- Evaluates employee's job performance about established production standards
- Counsels employees on job performance, safety/health, absenteeism, tardiness, and disciplinary issues
- Interviews applicants to fill appropriate job openings after initial screening by Human Resources Department
- Mentor associates and team leads.
- Participate and or leads in training, development, and certification programs.
- Ensures all employees follow health and safety guidelines and wears proper PPE in the department.
- Responsible for working with employees to reduce their blood lead and eliminate accidents within departments.
- Checks and verifies employee's time in the Kronos Timekeeping system for accuracy before approving for weekly payroll processing. Enters employee schedule and changes same for tracking.
- Participates and supports TPS programs in the department and the plant.
- Follow health and safety practices as they apply to work and the facility and supports the STOP program.
- Performs whatever other responsibilities and duties that are assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
- AB/BS degree preferred
- 3 to 5 years supervisory experience in a production manufacturing environment.
- Trained in team building with effective communication skills, written and verbal.
- Must posses leadership ability.
- Good computer skills including use of Word, Excel, Power Point and other software.
- Good communications, interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions on the work that needs to be performed.
- Understanding of basic process and product flow in order to trouble shoot and pinpoint areas requiring problem solving.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interpret company policies and procedures.
