Purpose

Develop real-time, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation solutions for test and validation of commercial and Aerospace/Defense electronic control applications (aircrafts, UAV, eVTOL, electric vehicles and power tools)

Requirements
  • BS in engineering; electrical, computer, or aerospace engineering preferred; MS a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in designing, testing and validating HIL test platforms involving analog/discrete IOs, communication buses, battery characteristics and model simulations
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and drive a team to overcome technical challenges
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Rapidly responsive, personable, and engaging
  • Eager to learn, utilize, and apply new technologies.


Helpful Skills
  • Experience with HIL testing, systems integration lab (SIL) testing, and high-channel data acquisition and processing
  • Knowledge of Battery Management Systems, aerospace LRUs, and/or automotive ECU applications
  • Experience with National Instruments (NI) hardware and software, including PXI, CompactRIO, FPGA, LabVIEW, TestStand and VeriStand
  • Strong, hands-on, hardware troubleshooting and software debugging skills
  • Skilled with signal conditioning, power electronics, C/C++/C#, Python, Simulink and Altium
  • Experience with documentation including Compliance Matrix, system interconnect diagrams, schematics, acceptance test procedures and user manuals.


Responsibilities
  • Translate customer needs into specific, well-written requirements to which systems and subsystems can be architected and designed (customer requirements documents include SOW, ICD, and CIDs)
  • Design and develop system block diagram, ICD, schematic, and mechanical layout
  • Develop and integrate application software, custom code (as needed) for the complete solution
  • Implement Verification & Validation techniques (including test plans and procedures) to ensure the system, as designed and built, will meet specified requirements.
  • As a lead engineer, work directly with project managers, customers and team members to execute and manage projects' technical scopes
  • From customer requirements, develop technical proposal and pricing estimate in accordance with procedures.
