Director, Data Science
within the Digital Technology team. This role is based at our global headquarters in Allentown, PA or Houston, TX office. Remote working arrangements may be available (U.S.)
The Director of Data Science is a critical leadership role, reporting to the Vice President of Data, Platforms & Transformation. The candidate will help realize the mission of our DT organization to apply technology towards enabling business roadmaps.
The candidate will lead a highly specialized, advanced degreed team that provides advanced analytical modeling to include Optimization, Simulation, Machine Learning, Predictive, Geospatial, and Deep Learning. Key outcomes for the role include:
Develop and deliver next generation Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions.
Lead the development of re-usable frameworks, model, and components for reliable and robust execution.
Partner with the business to facilitate and strengthen decision making using both structured and unstructured data.
Focus on advanced analytics, predictive analytics and artificial intelligence which enables the business to make informed decisions related to people, processes, operations, and enterprise systems.
Rapidly deploy and scale advanced analytics models through cloud native services in conjunction with ML Ops.
Partner with business leaders and product management to monetize data and enable business growth.
Partner with Research & Development (R&D) to productize and scale innovation to the enterprise.
Qualifications
10+ years of data architecture, analytics development, or machine learning experience
At least 5+ years building and leading high performing teams of Data Scientists and Data Professionals
Experience developing data strategy to enable business results
Interpersonal and leadership skills commensurate with senior IT levels
Expertise in conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Extensive experience in at least one cloud platform (e.g., AWS) and associated machine learning services, e.g., Amazon SageMaker
Familiarity with Agile software development practices
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain and discuss machine learning concepts with colleagues and business leaders
