L3Harris' Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineering Manager to join our team. This position will be based at our Salt Lake City-UT facility.
Position overview
The Senior Systems Engineering Manager will lead a team of Project and Systems Engineers that support the development, sustainment, and business pursuit activities associated with Line of Sight (RF and Free Space Optical) and SATCOM communication systems used with Manned and Unmanned Aircraft and Surface Systems. This leadership position will support the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Programs. This Senior Manager should have demonstrated leadership experience in engineering development and/or program management and should include experience leading major development proposal efforts. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of directly related work experience in project/systems engineering, including proposal management, requirements analysis, development of architecture and technical specifications, interface control documents, test plans and procedures, etc.
- Minimum of 5 years of project and/or personnel management and leadership experience, building cohesive/collaborative teams.
- nderstanding of and experience with business development processes/lifecycle with an emphasis on capture and proposal planning and proposal development
- Active Security Clearance
- Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Experience with all aspects of Military Standard Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) including: Design, Implementation, Transition to Manufacturing, and Maintenance
- Experience and in depth understanding of advanced communication systems, including wide band data links used in land, sea, air and tactical Line of Sight and SATCOM applications.
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative risk analysis and management skills, including Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
- Master of Science degree related to digital communication systems
- Strong written and oral communication skills

- Existing SECRET or higher clearance is highly desirable.
- Experience with L3Harris technology and products used by the US Navy and USMC is preferable.
