Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Flight Control Systems Software Engineer to join our team at Supernal. Our company is dedicated to creating innovative solutions for mobility in future cities. We are developing a new electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft that will provide a seamless and safe transportation experience for passengers, allowing them to easily reach their destinations. We believe in collaboration and creative thinking to improve mobility for all, whether it's for work or leisure.
Here's what the job entails:
- Working with the systems lead to establish architecture and define requirements for the flight control systems.
- Analyzing system safety and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborating with other engineering teams, such as powertrain and avionics, to develop the flight controls interface.
- Participating in system integration with other systems.
- Conducting system level testing and verification of the flight control system.
- Occasionally, there may be a need for domestic and international travel, up to 10% of the time.
Here's what we are looking for:
- A bachelor's degree in aerospace, electrical, or a relevant engineering field.
- At least five years of experience in flight control systems or similar complex systems.
- Familiarity with system safety analysis and reliability.
- Strong knowledge and experience in fly-by-wire manned and/or unmanned aircraft control systems design.
- Some experience with hardware development of flight control computers.
- Proficiency in defining, reviewing, and maintaining system requirements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks within deadlines.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
Here are some additional qualifications that would be beneficial:
- Familiarity with development standards such as ARP 4761, DO-160, ARP 4754A, DO 178B/C, and DO 254.

The base pay for this position may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a bonus as part of the total compensation. The pay range for this position is $166,400 to $232,960 USD.
