Congressional Affairs and Public Communications Analyst (Junior) Congressional Affairs and Public Communications Analyst (Junior) KBR is seeking a junior analyst with experience responding to Congressional correspondence and media requests for information. A basic understanding of Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS), Army Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), and Army offensive fires is highly desired. The analyst will assist in supporting the leadership from both the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Counter-small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Office (JCO) and the Department of the Army Fires Directorate (Fires). The analyst will assist the respective leadership and staff from the JCO and Fires in processing all related Congressional and public communications matters of interest and their associated requirements. The analyst will help to identify, develop, and provide information, products, plans and general support, which will effectively shape communications and interactions between DoD Senior-Leaders, Congress, and the Public. The analyst will further assist with coordinating the participation of JCO and Fires leadership in public-advocacy speaking engagements. Duties will include: Maintain situational awareness of emerging and existing DoD C-UAS, IAMD, and fires-related initiatives and activities
Support the assessment/analysist of the current communications and engagement program and help to develop recommendations to the JCO and Fires leadership Working in conjunction with JCO and Fires planners, provide communications insights to improve current and future plans
Working in conjunction with the JCO and Fires Policy teams, provide communications insights to improve C-UAS, IAMD, and offensive fires policy development
Working in conjunction with the JCO and Fires Doctrine and Training teams, provide communications insights as related Army and multi-service doctrine and training developed and updated
Execute assigned staff actions to support JCO and Fires efforts
Assist in the preparation of written products (reports, info papers, executive summaries) to shape and defend JCO and Fires positions
Assists in the preparation and presentation of briefings to leadership and stakeholders
Support representatives of JCO and Fires in C-UAS, IAMD, and offensive fires forums as they advocate for the JCO and Fires organizations and mission
Assist with the development and coordination of responses to requests for information from Congress, the media, and other interagency and public stakeholders
Assist in coordinating JCO and Fires leadership participation in public defense-advocacy and academic forums Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
Prior congressional affairs or media affairs experience
1-3 years of related work experience Secret level security clearance is a required so the applicant should currently possess a secret level clearance or have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret level clearance which requires U.S Citizenship.
