Job Description Summary GE Vernova's Advanced Research business is the central innovation engine for GE's portfolio of energy businesses, which will be unified under one banner called GE Vernova. As a Senior Robotics and Autonomous Systems Engineer you will work with GE Research, GE Businesses, and external customers to define, build, and execute strategic research and development programs focused in Robotics and Autonomous Systems aligned with GE's Digital Industrial vision. Job Description Essential Responsibilities Develop new technology concepts with strategic impact focused in robotics and autonomy, including robot system design, motion planning, perception, manipulation, system integration, and human-robot interaction.
Lead projects, proposals, relationship building, and the development of new autonomous and robotic systems technology.
Actively participate in design, architecture, and development efforts.
Engage with internal and external thought leaders across the robotics technology stack to drive new concepts and applications. Position Requirements Doctorate degree in an Engineering field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in design and development of robotic systems or autonomous systems. Or a Master's degree in an Engineering field with a minimum of 8 years of experience in design and development of robotic systems or autonomous systems. Strong execution track record.

Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.
Significant experience in path/motion planning, kinematic and dynamic modeling of robots, perception, graphical simulation, and GUIs.
Significant experience related to systems architecture, design, and system integration.
Significant experience programming in C/C++/Python.
Significant experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS).
Significant experience in integrating mechanical, electrical, and software components into working systems.
Experience in electro-mechanical design, system integration, and mechanism design.
Experience in mechanical design (e.g. in SolidWorks).
Experience with computer vision, and machine learning.
Possess superior problem-solving skills and independent decision-making abilities, all while operating in an extremely demanding, fast-paced team setting.
Must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
Must be 18 years or older
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY
