The salary for this role is $150,000 - 175,000. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York. This salary range may also be modified in the future.

About the role:

The role will be within the energy investment group founded in 2015 within LS Power that focusses on expressing its views on the energy space through positions in commodities, equity and credit. The team is active trading commodities in North America and internationally. We are looking to add an individual to cover the fundamental view of the European natural gas, power, LNG markets and be a key member of the energy investment team. This individual will lead analysis in European gas markets and be a significant contributor to global gas strategy, based on their fundamental analysis. This unique opportunity to join a growing business within LS Power will offer significant entrepreneurial prospects and require a self-motivating professional with deep understanding of the European gas and power markets.


What you will do

Lead fundamental analysis of European and UK gas, power and LNG markets, and maintain/ further develop supply-demand models for European gas
Work with LS Power's broader team, to develop and defend proprietary trading ideas
Analyze global natural gas and LNG markets, and anticipate impacts to changes in policy
Have a short- to long-term view on fundamental drivers and prices
Work with a diverse investment team and willing to contribute beyond day-to-day responsibilities
Ad-hoc studies on specific gas flows, time and location spreads in Europe

We want you on our team because you

Possess multiple years' experience within European natural gas industry, preferably in a trading environment
Have a thorough understanding of supply and demand fundamentals and modeling.
Have a Bachelor's degree in numerate or technical field (math, physics, economics, and engineering). Course work in Economics and Finance is a plus
Hold experience in data management and/or programming
