The Building Construction Project Manager will be based in Kokomo, Indiana with the initial role overseeing the construction of the new EV battery plant. The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall completion of construction activities on building construction projects. This includes oversight of project activities from estimating, planning, permitting, scheduling, BIM coordination, construction safety, construction execution, change management, and project close-out. This position coordinates construction activities with third party construction managers and/or design-building suppliers. The Construction Manager will be responsible for managing and maintaining project schedule, budget adherence, scope changes, and quality of work. The ideal candidate has the ability to develop schedules, manage workload, as well as improve building trade workforce efficiencies, cost effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. The position requires working in a collaborative environment with all project staff disciplines to proactively identify issues, root cause problems, and drive continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Review design documents for completion and scope adherence prior to bidding
  • Provide input and analysis on Value Engineering ideas to reduce project scope and cost
  • Prepare initial bid packages including work scope definitions, pricing breakdowns, and milestone activities
  • Create baseline project schedules
  • Work with Purchasing for the bidding and selection of contractors
  • Manage and provide oversight of construction schedule
  • Oversee contractor support staff (construction management staff)
  • Lead and attend construction meetings
  • Manage and provide oversight of the construction budget
  • Review change orders against project scope
  • Coordinate with Value Analysis review of project bulletins
  • Oversee construction activities and completion of work
  • Provide support to project staff to resolve field issues
  • Assist in the resolution of questions from contractors, (i.e., interpreting the meaning and intent of drawings and specs) and submitting/tracking RFIs.
  • Ensure work is in compliance with work scope and project specifications
  • Review monthly invoicing
  • Issue progress updates and prepare presentations for upper management
  • Coordinate project activities with various project stakeholders within the company
  • Proactively manage project activities to anticipate roadblocks and ensure adherence to overall timing
  • Assist in development and implementation of schedule recovery plans
  • Manage and mitigate project risks
  • Oversee creation and finalization of punch-lists
  • Ensure project close-out including finalization of permits, buy-offs, warranty data, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings
