Our client in the Automotive industry is seeking a Powertrain Engineer. You will be part of a team supporting a fast-paced environment.

The main function of a Powertrain and Calibration Engineer is to develop and work on the powertrain system within vehicles. This position is part of a cross-functional team that supports OBD development and OBD certification process for the US and global markets. In this position, you will lead, coordinate and conduct testing on soon-to-be released vehicles to support regulation conformity.

Location: 48331 Farmington Hills, Michigan
Pay Rate: up to 48/hr
Contract: W2 x 11 months with the chance to convert to direct hire

What's the Job?
  • Support the roll-out of model year software for US market light-duty gasoline engines
  • Plan and conduct testing of gasoline powertrains in the areas of combustion and emissions control/OBD.
  • Plan and conduct testing to support calibration of powertrains in the areas of OBD, emissions control and HV components.
  • Coordinate, plan and prepare OBD and ENDA documentation to certification.
  • Evaluate the potential OBD issues from different controllers and track the Deficiency fix.

What's Needed?
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with light-duty gasoline engine development in the areas of combustion, emissions control/OBD, and drivability
  • Experience with light-duty gasoline engine control units, especially Bosch control units
  • Understanding of light-duty gasoline emissions and OBD regulations
  • Proficiency with powertrain development tools such as INCA and Matlab/Simulink
  • Ability to author clear and concise technical reports for a wide, global audience
  • Valid US drivers license
