POSITION SUMMARY
Capitol Technology University, a nonprofit university located in Laurel, Maryland seeks an Adjunct Professor to teach graduate courses in Aviation and Aeronautical Sciences (described below) via online asynchronous delivery.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :

Minimum of a Master's Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in Aviation, Aeronautical Science, or a closely related discipline (Business, Engineering, Technology, or aviation related discipline)
Possess a successful record in education and professional service
Demonstrate successful leadership in education and professional service
Be able to teach from a position of authority in aviation and/or flight (3-years industry experience or minimum 1000 hours Pilot-in-Command PIC time)
Demonstrated professional experience in aviation operations and safety
Must be committed to diversity among students, faculty, and staff
College-level teaching experience preferred
Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS :

Appropriate FAA Flight Instructor certificate or Military Equivalent, required for flight classes
Recognized as a National or Regional expert in the Aviation and/or the Aviation Safety fields, desired.
Demonstrated industry experience in Aviation, Aviation Safety, Risk Management, or Aviation Safety Management Systems, desired.
Certificates from safety management institutes (e.g. Transportation Safety Institute), desired
Demonstrated experience in unmanned and autonomous operations and safety, desired

LIST OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES :

Manages and facilitates class activities and adheres to and meets all established university policies
Adheres to the university guidelines and standards for online and online/hybrid learning
Responds to invitations to make recommendations to the Chair and Dean regarding the selection of textbooks or other required texts relative to the adjunct faculty member's appropriate academic discipline and teaching assignment
Submits final grades no later than 48 hours after the conclusion of their last day of class; remains available to students during the week following the posting of final grades
Participates in student learning outcomes assessment related to the adjunct's teaching assignment as directed by the Chair and Dean
Adheres to all established university absence and attendance policies, guidelines, and requirements
Completes related projects and duties as assigned

COURSES OFFERED :
Courses to be taught are courses in the M.S. in Aviation, the M.Phil. in Aeronautical Accident Investigation, the P.B Certificate of Aerospace Accident and Failure Analysis as well as courses related to Unmanned Aerial Systems.
