Position Summary:

The Software Engineering Co-op position will work in the Electrification department and will perform varied duties of a complex nature. The candidate will assist the product development engineering department and will receive general guidance from the Manager and direct guidance from a full-time engineer / mentor. This position is for June-December 2024.


Software Engineering Co-op Responsibilities:
  • Motivated, self-directed, and the ability to make risk balanced decisions.
  • Assists in the development of embedded software/firmware
  • Assists in the modeling, testing and validation of software/firmware
  • Provides technical expertise in support of improvements to existing product designs/architecture.
  • Provides engineering support to the process of modification of existing products to meet customer requirements, while retaining product function and quality.
  • Other duties assigned


Software Engineering Co-op Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a 4-year degree in Software, Computer or Electrical Engineering with at least 2 years of school completed with strong academic performance (3.0 GPA or above)
  • Junior, Senior and Master's status
  • Experience in C, C++ programming languages
  • Experience in model-based programming or MATLAB/Simulink
  • Demonstrated leadership, strong initiative and decision-making skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter who can work well independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across the organization
