Senior Software Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with energy analysts and product management to understand business requirements for new features and identify technical design and implementation plan need to launch these features to our customers.
• Design, implement and launch scalable systems for analyzing renewable energy projects.
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process and system improvements and work on them with other teams as need to automate manual processes, optimize data ingestion, processing, delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Incorporate secure coding practices into development lifecycle and work closely with our security and operations team to deliver high quality and secure code to Production.
• Approach software engineering collaboratively and be a great partner to others within the company. Mentor less experienced engineers and help others to improve their professional skills.

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of professional experience designing and developing cloud-based RESTful services using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript and relational SQL databases like Postgres and mySQL
• Proven track of technical ownership for complex product initiative through all stages of software development from business product requirements to launch in Production and post release support.
• Able to provide high-level estimates and technical design for complex product features and consolidating contributions from other engineers as needed to complete implementation of these features and launch them to customers.
• Experience performing troubleshooting/root cause analysis for operational issues and leading efforts on engineering teams required to improve quality of deliverables from their team leveraging well-defined quality metrics.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to message complex issues to a diverse audience across multiple cross-functional teams and representatives of non-technical disciplines.

Additional Details

• This role will be based in LevelTen's Seattle, WA office.
• The estimated compensation for this position is $140,000 - $190,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus and an equity grant.
