What you'll do
As the Senior Software Developer based at our headquarters in Novi, MI, you will apply your C#/.NET expertise to create, code, test, and assess new and existing software applications. You will also be accountable for researching, designing, documenting, and adjusting software from its inception to the conclusion of a product's life cycle.
Relocation assistance is available to the Novi, MI area for non-local candidates.
You will also:
- Rectify software errors in a timely and precise manner
- Collaborate with developers, programmers, and designers to conceptualize and develop new software
- Plan phases of the software development life cycle for a variety of projects
- Research and document requirements and specifications of software users
- Support procurement and development efforts by conducting research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards
- Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades
- Partnering with IST personnel to assist in resolving problems with software product or systems
- Write, translate, and code software according to specifications
- Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications, as necessary
- Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs
- Carefully examine test results and deliver solutions to problem areas
- Create reports and statistics to inform management and your teammates of the status of programming projects
- Develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines and train end users to operate new products
- Perform installations for end users

What you need to be successful
- Bachelor's degree in Computer System Design, Computer Science, or a related Computer Engineering degree
- Proficiency in a variety of programming languages including Microsoft .NET and iSeries (RPG)
- Experience working with enterprise applications using C#, VB.NET, SQL/T-SQL, JavaScript/DHTML, VBScript, HTML, XML, iSeries RPG ILE
- Integrated development expertise within the manufacturing sector
- Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
- Able to troubleshoot errors in existing software solutions
- Ability to travel 1x per month to Charlotte, MI
