Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated, data driven, and results oriented individual to join our team as a Technical Planning Engineer. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in our company's positive culture. You will help us energize, build, and maintain the technology planning organization at StarPlus Energy as the automotive industry moves toward an electric future. The technical planning engineer will report directly to the Technology Planning Manager and be responsible for Key Performance Indicator (KPI) development, reporting, and continuous improvement for EV battery manufacturing. Additionally this team will own standards procurement and interlock material analysis. The tech planning team primarily works with Safety, Quality, Process Engineering, Maintenance, and Manufacturing.

  • KPI Management and Dashboard Development:
    • Lead the definition and development of Key Performance Indicators for Manufacturing
    • Create KPI reports and real-time dashboard systems to drive improvement actions and results
    • Leverage standard dashboards to monitor and track daily/weekly/monthly KPIs
    • Collaborate with manufacturing department managers to establish and refine key metrics, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
    • Compile, complete, and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports to keep stakeholders informed and support decision-making processes
  • Continuous Improvement Project Management:
    • Analyze trends and data to identify major improvement opportunities within manufacturing
    • Work closely with the operations team to drive innovation and change
    • Engage manufacturing department managers to collaborate on targeted improvement areas
    • Measure and monitor the results of all improvement projects to ensure improvement or permanent corrective action
  • Standards Procurement in AQMS and PLM systems
    • Manage controlled documents (policies/procedures/SOPs/etc.) in a central AQMS/PLM repository
    • Work closely with the Quality team to facilitate document reviews, ensuring compliance with quality standards
    • Pursue required document approvals prior to release
    • Follow StarPlus Energy document naming convention and version control standards
  • Interlock Material Analysis
    • Identify and address gaps in material management processes or workflows
    • Monitor and track internal material status in all manufacturing areas
    • Coordinate key stakeholder meetings related to material testing and disposition
    • Collaborate with Production Managers to track in-process inventory status
    • Lead cross-functional teams to disposition semi-finished product (interlock material)

    • Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering, System Engineering, or a related technical field (required)

    • 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Automotive
    • Proven expertise in data analytics (Excel, Minitab, Python, JMP, Spotfire)
    • Exposure to production control, supply chain, or material handling systems and procedures
    • Demonstrated technical problem-solving ownership and proficiency
    • Cross-functional subject and/or team leadership experience preferred

    • Ability to quickly organize data and generate management level reports
    • Understanding of different structured problem solving methods (Fault Tree, Fishbone, 4M, 3L5Y, 8D, etc)
    • Ability to simplify and comprehend big data to drive actions and improvements

    • Familiarity with visual KPI dashboard tools and automation

    Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
    • Must be eligible to work in the United States
    • Occasional travel may be required (domestic/international)
    • Working overtime, weekends, or holidays may be required at times
    • Ability to walk and stand for long periods throughout the day
    • Ability to gown and wear appropriate PPE in dry room conditions on the manufacturing floor
