CLIENT is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Specialist Level II to join our talented Start Up and Commissioning team for upcoming work.
This position is responsible for safely verifying installation, cleaning, commissioning, maintenance, repair, operating and troubleshooting of industrial power and process mechanical equipment and systems during all commissioning and operational phases of the assigned project. The ability to check drawings and documents for the equipment and systems to verify they are installed, tested and operating per manufactures and project design. This position may require working nights, weekends, and periodic hours outside normal working hours as the project schedule requires. The ability to work with field engineers, owner's personnel, construction and team members to complete daily tasks. The use of current industry standards to document and record commissioning task on equipment and systems. Strong working knowledge of industrial mechanical systems will be essential in planning and executing/directing work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Very knowledgeable with commissioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting high energy steam, condensate, lubrication, natural gas, fuel oil, flue gas & emissions handling systems. Equipment examples: steam turbines, combustion turbines, large vertical pumps, large fans, large motor or turbine driven horizontal pumps, coal, wood and ash conveying/storage.
Independently performs the daily tasks within area of expertise utilizing safe, reliable and appropriate technical skills to provide required results.
Responsible for the proper evaluation of all mechanical drawings and documents, including vendor documents, to complete all required tasks and provide corrections as necessary to ensure all drawings are updated for completeness, detail and accuracy. Coordinates with project supervision and field engineers to complete as-built drawings and documents.
Ability to work to a project schedule and complete assigned daily work to achieve commissioning goals.
Responsible to follow or create procedures for assigned work tasks in a safe manner utilizing required safety procedures such as LOTO.
As required, supervise personnel or sub-contractors to perform work tasks.
Requires the ability to assist and work with vendors to commission the vendor's equipment as needed.
Requires the ability to work/train owner's operation and maintenance personnel periodically without any conflicts.
Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
Associates degree in a mechanical technology related curriculum or equivalent job-related experience (two (2) years of experience equals one (1) year of college). Must have four (4) years of work experience in operational and maintenance of mechanical system applications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email. Position includes working at a field environment requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hardhat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on construction sites. On construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high. Job sites may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking. Noise levels vary and may include bells, whistles, and alarms.
