Chem 32 Orange, TX location is
looking for a Lab Technician in a fast paced catalyst lab.
This position starts at $20.00 per hour and the schedule is Mon-Fri 8a.m. -
5:00p.m with some occasional weekends.
Benefits begin first of the
month after you are hired!
Requirements for the
position:
High school diploma or GED
and two plus years of experience working in a chemical lab.
OR
Associates degree or
certification and one plus years of experience working in a chemical lab
Perform routine and non-routine analyses using the appropriate technical equipment and instruments.
Receive, collect, process, and store catalyst samples.
Calculate test results, log and report results using a computer.
Maintain equipment in proper working order and maintain a clean work area.
Operates pilot operating reactor, when needed.
Generate routine reports on laboratory experiments.
Work with manager in resolving experiment and equipment related issues in a timely fashion.
Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues.
Follow proper waste disposal and recycling methodologies.
Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.
Communicate any equipment, supply, or PPE needs to Lab Manager.
Other functions or assignments as defined by supervision, in order to maintain efficient and safe operation of the department and/or the Plant (i.e. housekeeping)
Must be able to utilize computer for access to plant information as necessary-e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, LIMS, etc.
Review, follow, and in some cases write job procedures.
• Report any leaks, exposures, accidents, spills or fugitive emissions.
• Proper disposal of all waste, report near misses or incidents.
• Use proper PPE.
• Do ONLY what you have been trained to do.
• Activity participates in HSEQ and Process Safety activities and initiatives.
• Be well-versed and compliant with all SOPs.
• Attend and contribute to regular monthly safety meetings and toolbox meetings.
• Attend all initial and periodic training.
• Fire Extinguisher Training, First Aid/CPR Training.
• Maintain high area housekeeping standards.
• Be your brother's keeper.
• Complete all quarterly and yearly training (i.e. CBTs)
• Lead, support, promote, improve, and enforce compliance, all HS&E, corporate/plant/regulatory policies, procedures, performance standards and ISO9001, RC14001 and Ecovyst Principles
