Job Details

Job Responsibilities:
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC Grinders, including Studer S33, S40, and Kellenberger models, to produce high-precision machined components, tools, and fixtures.
  • Conduct CNC Grinding operations for OD, ID, and Axial (face) grinding, ensuring adherence to specifications.
  • Develop efficient grinding processes, determine grinding wheel specifications (e.g., type, hardness, dressing cycles), and create setup and operation sheets for streamlined operations.
  • Address issues in the work process, such as program, wheel speed, finish, or tolerance problems, through effective troubleshooting.
  • Interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and technical data to establish holding requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and grinding methods.
  • Calculate and adjust machine controls to position the grinding wheel in relation to the workpiece, regulating factors like depth of cut, speed, feed, and coolant flow.
  • Perform repetitive bending or stooping tasks and maintain a standing position for extended periods.
  • Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, as required.
  • Maintain flexibility in work schedule.
  • Adhere to any additional instructions and perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Management reserves the right to modify, revoke, add, or eliminate duties and responsibilities within this job classification at any time.

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or have successfully completed a recognized CNC Programming/Machinist apprenticeship program, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Familiarity with "on machine" programming utilizing Studer Win software with Pictogramming is advantageous.
  • Proficient in inspecting parts using conventional inspection equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauge, comparator, dial indicators, etc.
