Remote position with about 10% travel. This is a 2 year contract (with opportunity for extension)
While working remote contractor must have computer, cell phone, and reliable high-speed internet.
Pay rate per hour 65.00 to 70.00.

Initiative: Energy Management Technology - Real-Time Energy Management
RTEM program needs an additional project manager to focus on RTEM on Commercial and Multifamily projects (market rate and LMI), as well as support the close-out of the RTEM program through 2025. This person will review deliverables, coordinate with vendors, collect project data, support paying out of projects that are brought into RTEM, and report on program performance. This position will also manage any vendors selected for technical support or program implementaiton by NYSERDA.This role is important to achieve the milestones, outputs, and outcomes from the Consolidated Investment Plan for the Energy Management Technology chapter. Project manager services are required to successfully process incoming deliverables in a timely fashion.

Mandatory Qualifications:
- 3-6 years of experience.
- Technical & Professional Skills & Knowledge: General knowledge of building HVAC systems and common Energy Efficiency measures. General knowledge of common energy management strategies within Commercial & Multifamily buildings. General knowledge of New York State Technical Resource Manual, and ability to perform savings calculations using this resource.
- Creativity in Project & Program Development: Has developed and managed projects with little specific direction. Develops new projects and co-funding sources with own initiative. Carried out development of several projects through competitive solicitation phase that may or may not result from own initiative. Has provided ideas and rationale for program development in at least one technical area.
- Organization Skills & Productivity: Has demonstrated ability to implement projects in a timely manner. Demonstrates the capability to manage all aspects of on-going projects with no supervision. Is able to prioritize workload with other responsibilities. Effectively discharges general technical and project management assignments in a timely manner. Demonstrates strategic thinking connected to the organization's goals.
- Leadership / Interpersonal Relations / Judgement: Has demonstrated ability to effectively head working groups or program teams. Has full confidence of peers and superiors. People skills have developed to show leadership and an ability to motivate others.

- Tools: Must be a high-level Microsoft excel user, and be able to perform Pivot tables, advanced formulas, and advanced data analysis of complex data sets.
- Education: Bachelor of Science Preferred, Any 4-year degree accepted as a minimum
Responsibilities:
- Managing portfolio projects from initiation to completion. Manage contracted resources to support program close-out.
- Manage scope, schedule and budget of project agreements and other program support agreements.
- Support and develop tracking and reporting of current and new initiatives.
- Support the development of PONs, RFQs, RFPs.
- Facilitate and execute continuous improvement of program rules and business processes.
- Manage and develop relationships and increase coordination with key stakeholders. Outstanding external and customer communications skills - written and verbal.
- Participate in a process to test, measure and adjust to maximize success.
- Coordinate with other departments to support projects and development or refinement of strategies and processes. Make recommendations for improvements to NYSERDA's strategies and business processes.
- Advanced data analysis to support reporting, program improvement and new strategy development.
- Will be working with NEIS, Salesforce, SharePoint.
Notes from the manager:
- Real Time Energy Management Program -
- Current Status of Program: Over next two years, team will be collecting/closing out deliverables from about 600 additional sites.
- Program is no longer accepting new applications; team has a lot to work through to get existing approved projects to the finish line.
- Daily tasks: working with approved vendors/projects, milestone deadlines, hold vendors accountable, ID optimizations.
- Reviewing deliverables involving control systems. Relationship building, frequent cadence calls.
- Knowledge of building systems (e.g., able to answer what is a chilling plant? what is a boiling plant?)
- Experienced PM, has held higher level leadership positions, must be comfortable with their knowledge of energy/buildings and working with key stakeholders.
- Important so that, for instance, if a customer has questions about feedback they were given, PM can jump on in a meeting and be able to speak to the feedback and speak with the energy saving strategies with real-time data.
- Demonstrated track record of ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects, prioritization.
- The PMs will be working with 20-30 vendors each (representing up to 400 projects).
- One week, there may be a lot that needs to be done with large volume of deliverables coming through. Other weeks, slower, more focused on check-ins.
