Position Overview

The Outreach Specialist at Walker Miller Energy Services is responsible for promoting and facilitating the adoption of electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in residential areas through effective community engagement. This role involves identifying and developing relationships with community-based partner organizations, organizing and attending events, and delivering presentations to raise awareness about energy efficiency programs and the Beneficial Electric Rebate campaign.

Job Description

The Outreach Specialist at Walker Miller Energy Services will play a crucial role in advancing the Beneficial Electrification Residential EV Infrastructure program. The primary goal is to deepen customer awareness and engagement in the Beneficial Electric Rebate campaign, specifically targeting residential EV infrastructure. This involves identifying and nurturing relationships with community-based partners, organizing and leading public events, and creating persuasive marketing materials. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, including local government and utility companies, to streamline the implementation of EV infrastructure projects. The Outreach Specialist will also contribute to educational initiatives, aiming to inform the community about the environmental and economic benefits of electric vehicles and electrification.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Research and Event Coordination
Identify community events within the partner service territory.
Work with event coordinators to secure and staff events.
Develop relationships with community-based partner organizations.
Direct-to-Customer Outreach
Organize and staff outreach opportunities, including meetings and presentations.
Assist in the development of communication materials for assigned programs.
Collaboration and Networking
Collaborate with local partner organizations to share program updates.
Assist Marketing team in larger trade show and seminar events.
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government, utility companies, and EV manufacturers.
Marketing and Reporting
Assist in the development of marketing materials.
Track and report outreach efforts using Salesforce.
Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for Program Manager/Outreach Team Lead.
Community Engagement and Education
Develop and implement outreach strategies to educate and engage the community on residential EV infrastructure.
Lead public meetings, workshops, and other events.
Create educational programs and materials on the benefits of EVs and electrification.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree BA/BS from four-year college or university or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum two years of experience in community outreach and event planning.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong customer service and public speaking skills.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work efficiently with little guidance.
Knowledge of Electric Vehicle technology and infrastructure.

Licenses & Certifications

Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

Travel Requirements

Over 50% required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Required to sit and stand for extended periods of time
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Noise level is typically moderate.
