Job Description The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs essential duties and responsibilities in the Maintenance Department in support of the Mission Support Team. Essential Job Responsibilities Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment and supporting facility in a climate-controlled environment.
Ability to follow technical specifications using hand tools, power tools, or precision measuring instruments.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of electrical work in compliance with NEC; ability to read and understand electrical and electrical control schematics and install or repair electrical service.
Investigate root cause of variety of facility problems, develops repair procedures and implements repair or work directly with vendors to support facility sustainment efforts and upgrades. Order and track material required for repairs.
Operate material handling equipment such as fork or scissor lifts, gantry systems and cranes.
Comply with DoD and other safety regulations.
Assist with relocation of materials, equipment, furniture, etc.
Minimum Qualifications 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience
3-5 years of prior experience in various maintenance disciplines.
Ability to work with little direction or supervision.
Must be a flexible problem solver (work within strict timelines to maintain critical path schedules).
Ability to work overtime, as needed, and must be available for emergency on call list. Detail oriented with the ability to balance and organize multiple priorities. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI government security clearance with enhanced security checks. Strong attention to detail.
Preferred Requirements Active Government Security Clearance (Secret or TS).
Understanding of and experience reading technical manuals. Construction background of anechoic chambers and / or secure facilities.
Familiarity with general test equipment.
Excellent customer service to co-workers, customers, and vendors.
Ability to keep team informed of work progress, timelines, and issues.
Excellent attendance history.
Physical Requirements Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, balance, kneel and lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to climb rung ladders and work in confined spaces.
