SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR to Serve the Telecommunications Industry Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance Required
Job Innova Solutions is currently seeking a SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR with an Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance to serve in the Pentagon Data Center assisting with maintenance activities related to the customer's on-site Intrusion Detection (IDS) system. The System Administrator will assist the maintenance team on site daily by performing daily checks of the and IDS system, troubleshooting equipment, installing devices, cabling, and other hardware as required.
The System Administrator will be responsible for reporting the system status to the Project Leader and key on-site stakeholders through daily reports. The System Administrator will be responsible for assisting with corrective, preventative, and emergency maintenance tasking. Position type: Full-time Direct Hire (No C2C - No VISA sponsorship candidates)
Location: 5 days a week onsite in Washington, DC - Pentagon Data Center (Possibly hybrid after training 3-6 months)
Pay Range: $85-90K/year including PTO KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical Tasks
• Experience with IDS systems including DMP, Vindicator, FFT and others
• Perform preventative maintenance tasking on IDS equipment including visual checks, testing, and cleaning as required
• Perform corrective maintenance on IDS equipment and customer systems
• Perform emergency maintenance on IDS equipment and customer systems as required
• Ability to manage devices (add, rename, remove)
• Ability to perform patches and updates to systems
• Understanding of network connectivity, load testing, and data retention
• Understanding of IP configuration and ports
• Communicate system status updates on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
• Identifying, troubleshooting and reporting issues to Project Leader and Superintendent
• Creating, editing, and closing work tickets in the customer's inventory management system
• Lead the on-site software commissioning and testing
• Lead inspections, evaluations, and inventory projects
• Assist with feedback on configuration control requests
• Documenting daily reports and project progress
• Communicating project and team member issues/concerns to management
Administrative Tasks
• Ability to complete daily timesheet
• Perform all duties with minimal direct supervision
• Organize and prepare detailed documentation on the inventory management system including reports, analysis reports, and performance reports.
• Maintain large amounts of data with precision
• Communicate with customers on site and maintenance team
• Train system users and other system support personnel as needed

Top 5 Must Haves:
• Active Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance: This is a non-negotiable requirement for working with sensitive government systems and information.
• IDS System Expertise: The job heavily focuses on Intrusion Detection Systems. You must have demonstrable experience with systems like DMP, Vindicator, FFT, and others. This includes maintenance, troubleshooting, and configuration.
• System Administration & Networking Background: A solid foundation in system administration (3-5 years experience) is needed. This includes device management, updates, patching, and a strong understanding of network concepts.
• Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills are essential for diagnosing and resolving system issues, both hardware and software-related. This requires analytical thinking and a methodical approach.
• Communication & Documentation: Clear written and verbal communication is vital for reporting issues, documenting progress, and interacting with stakeholders. Attention to detail in reports and inventory management is crucial.
Additional Requirements:
• Requires minimum 3-5 years of experience in system administration and experience with network administration and IDS systems.
• Bachelor's degree
• Work on site daily in the customer's environment
• Ability to maintain consistent core working hours
• Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
• Standing for extended periods of time.
• Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
• Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
