Job Description Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, has a great opportunity for a Security Coordinator/FSO to assist with the security administration and enforcement of the security plan at a contract government site in Virginia Beach, VA. In this position you will assist the Lead Facility Security Officer with carrying out the security measures necessary for implementing requirements of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), SECNAVINST, and other government security regulations, contractual security regulations, and company security policies and procedures. Primary duties include assisting the Lead FSO with the daily execution of security program requirements. Conducts security briefings and assists in administers an effective security education program. Adheres to and enforces security policies and procedures required for the classification, downgrading, upgrading, and safeguarding of classified information at the local facility. In this position you will carry out the security measures necessary for implementing requirements of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), government security regulations, and company security policies and procedures. Primary duties include the execution of the daily security program requirements as well as participation and contribution to the company's security program. Conduct security briefings and administers an effective security education program. Adheres to and enforces security policies and procedures required for the classification, downgrading, upgrading, and safeguarding of classified information at the local facility. Minimum Qualifications 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field OR
1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience
MUST have an ACTIVE Secret clearance
Candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated and can communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Candidate must have the ability and flexibility to multitask as situations arise.
Conduct physical security checks throughout the shift to include end of day checks for classified spaces, combination lock changes when required, classified inventory, escorting uncleared visitors, access control, and daily operational security of the facility. Conduct administrative tasks associated with the industrial security operation to include executing briefings and writing letters.
Ensure compliance with Government regulations affecting the facility's physical security program. Identify and assist with investigations of any security violations and/or suspected compromises. Notifies, appropriate Government entities.
Proactively identify and apprise the FSO and management of developments, problems, and/or general status of facility security operations.
Preferred Requirements Facility Security Officer Program Management for Possessing Facilities certificate of completion a plus.
Establishing an Insider Threat Program Course certificate completion, a plus.
Physical Requirements Minimal mobility, dexterity, or coordination required to operate business machines. Minimal lifting may be required.
