Summary This is an UNPAID internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. DoD SkillBridge Internships are available to help transitioning active-duty military personnel gain real-world experience in the work force sometime during their final 180 days of active-duty service. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership. HII Mission Technologies Internship programs are focused on placing transitioning military into internships that require KSAs, Education & Military Training similar to their current or previous military jobs; positions that could easily transition over to a full-time regular and permanent job with HII. For this internship, the Skillbridge intern will train as a Facilities Manager / Security Officer within the HII Mission Technologies, reporting to a designated HII supervisor, with the goal of learning Facilities Management and Industrial Security principles, technologies, and core functions, as well as the roles and responsibilities of working as a Facilities Manager / Security Officer on a corporate team. The intern will be assigned special projects as needed. Desired End State (3-month target) At the end of three months, the intern will be able to describe core functions of Facilities Management and Industrial Security, gain hands-on experience in applying the skills and knowledge learned in the military to the corporate-world problems and projects.

Program of Instruction Program of Instruction Training/Internship Location: Nellis AFB, NV Training Plan Week 1: Introduction to HII Mission Technologies Team, customer, and contract support mission.
Review of the job description, expectations, and goals. Understand the delineation between contractor responsibility/authorization vs government responsibility/authorization. Orientation to the facility and the equipment.
Enrollment in CDSE Facility Security Officer virtual training program.
Assignment of a mentor.
Week 2-4: Review scope, drawings, facility strategic plans, and all financial analysis of Protective Distribution System (PDS)
Review the basics on what a PDS brings to the mission.
Start development a Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M) for PDS install.
Review all applicable laws, polices, regulations, and base standards as applicable for PDS procurement and installation.
Develop and understanding on how the PDS project will impact other organizations or sections, internal and external, to the 31 CTS.
Review previous Construction Security Plans and ICD 705.
On-the-Job training with Physical Security office for responsibilities as a Site Security Manager.
Week 5-8: Advise the program managers and key senior staff on operational and project-related matters through scheduled meetings and formal continuous communication.
Familiarize roles and responsibilities as the Physical Security representative for the required documentation required to be submitted for the Facility Security Plan.
Review SCIF/SAPF accreditation requirements applicable to PDS install.
Develop a plan for documentation records.
Week 9-12: Identify and attend (if applicable) all external meetings regarding PDS, produce minutes, identify action items and risk analysis and brief program managers.
Establishes collaborative working relationships across various organizations and disciplines.
Performs financial analysis for research and development projects from initial studies through development, including project evolution that conforms to the Department of Defense (DoD) Planning, Programming, Budgeting System (PPBS).
Become knowledgeable of 16 standard divisions of construction and technical listening devices used by foreign intelligence services.
Completion of CDSE FSO Program training coursework.
Receive feedback, final evaluation and overall assessment.
Additional Goals Introduction and integration to Veteran Alliance Network (HII Mission Technologies Veteran Resource Group).
Minimum Qualifications Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service. Applications accept during final 12 months of active-duty service.
