Job Summary: We are currently hiring a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the Advanced Airframes Department located in Tucson, AZ. This position is to support a proprietary program as the Boost Vehicle Deputy Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL). The Boost Vehicle Deputy IPTL will support the IPTL in the technical and programmatic execution of the boost vehicle team. Responsibilities will include leadership support for the team for all vehicle related Non-Recurring and Recurring tasks to ensure delivery of the system per program plan and managing suppliers to deliver products that comply with the technical and cost/schedule requirements. The role requires a strong focus on execution and demonstration of leadership behaviors. Responsibilities to Anticipate: Work under limited supervision and act as the responsible engineer. This often requires the ability to direct, delegate and review the work of others. Ability to communicate both to the RMD leadership to provide program status, accomplishments, issues, and help needed. Escalate issues when appropriate to both functional and program leadership. Strong understanding of earned value (EV) and supplier management on multiple contract types. Analyze EV data, understand variances and develop recovery plans where appropriate. Collaborate with all other IPTs to ensure seamless handoffs and teamwork. Provide mentoring and guidance to all team members. Required Qualifications: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5; such as tolerance analyses, and/or drawing practices and/or interpretation for mechanical hardware Experience managing teams in a technical capacity. Experience using program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and Risk and Opportunity Management to identify issues and develop recommended courses of action to management. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
