Marine Mission Systems Engineering Consultant Job Category: Engineering Time Type: Part time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Part-Time On-Call Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Local What You'll Get to Do: You will provide expert technical support for new and existing vessels to support our NAVSEA/MSC/Gov't customers. You will perform as a key consulting team member directly supporting our clients and be a recognized technical leader among colleagues and team members. You will provide subject matter expert knowledge on special-purpose ship mission systems. You will bring practical understanding of modern commercial shipboard design trends, tools, and practices. You will be a self-starter, perform as a team player across multiple engineering support projects and provide technical development inputs as needed. The Primary Focus for this role is the CACI mission systems SME for mission system technical areas including but not limited to cable handling & storage, winches, ROV equipment, cable handling and towing control systems, and related software & programs . Candidate will be well versed in principles and practices of subsea cable installation and repair as it pertains to the aforementioned systems. Candidate will be able to advise in areas such as testing of the aforementioned mission systems and provide expert witness documentation of tests, trials, and demonstrations of equipment for the purpose of lifecycle analysis & reporting. Candidate will bring experience with dynamic positioning systems with an understanding of operations which pertain to cable laying, repair, and troubleshooting, as well as understanding of system integrations between mission equipment and dynamic positioning equipment. Candidate will have experience with various OEM offerings conveying a practitioner's knowledge for all phases of acquisition based on commercial sailing, and Naval, MSC, or OEM project experiences. Candidate will be well versed across many ship platforms and/or have a proven track record on MSC T-Ships, AMPHIBS, Carriers, and/or Combatants, FMS Programs, USCG Programs, Unmanned Maritime Systems (UMSs) and/or Unmanned Maritime Vehicles (UMVs) . Candidate has industry connections and willingness to grow CACI's machinery team presence in the marine industry. More About the Role: Provide Subject Matter Expert knowledge & understanding of shipboard equipment as it pertains to critical mission systems.

Explicit Knowledge of ABS MVR/NVR, USCG, EPA/IMO, SOLAS, NAVY SPECs (e.g., DDS, DOD-HDBK, NSTM, TECH-PUBs, MIL-STD) You'll Bring These Qualifications: BS Degree in Maritime Transportation; or similar background and/or specialized such as significant US Navy training with an Associate's degree will be accepted in lieu of Bachelor's degree
US Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance Ten years of shipboard experience in US commercial or military subsea fields
Five years of experience performing in a key shipboard supervisory role responsible for integration of various disciplines & departments Operational-Level unlimited USCG License (3rd/2nd Mate, 3rd/2nd Engineer)
Experience briefing complex technical issues (including performance, cost, schedule, and risk implications) to decision makers.
Strong analytical skills Willingness to travel 10% of the time with a current Passport.
Capable of conducting design ship-checks onboard MSC and Navy ships These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: Master's Degree in Marine Transportation, or related degree
Management-Level unlimited USCG License (Chief/1st Engineer, Master/Chief Mate)
Shipboard experience aboard USN or MSC or MSC-contracted assets performing missions related to subsea engineering.
