US Citizenship and a current Secret Clearance or having held one during the last two years. (History of higher clearance a plus) Roles and Responsibilities:
• Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, experience in supporting large projects related to the individual's subject matter expertise. • These personnel are renowned experts in either functional domains (e.g., war planning, program analysis, doctrine, etc.) or technical disciplines (e.g., architecture, capability analysis, performance measurements, etc.) with many years of experience. • They all have extensive experience as technical leaders.
• Prepares and delivers presentations to colleagues, subordinates, and Government representatives. They assure the proper use of current or requested programming, testing and documentation techniques. • Produces or reviews substantive or complex technical documentation reflecting detailed knowledge of technical areas as identified in the statement of work.
• Must be capable of providing recommendations for resolution of technical problems. • Provide the required technical & engineering support for the development of advanced power & energy technologies for insertion into Soldier, Small Unit Power (i.e., technologies that can be worn or carried and for use by the Soldier, Squad & Platoon operational units), Aviation, and Expeditionary (i.e., Base Camps & Tactical Sites) systems.
• Provide expertise for specific technology development efforts, including preparation and generation of near-term, mid-term and far-term technology development plans, investment strategies, business and operating plans, and when applicable, the development and implementation of strategic databases for Soldier, Small Unit and Expeditionary power.
Knowledge of:
• Energy Storage - Extreme lightweight materials and components with advanced electrochemical technologies that can enable safe operation for periods up to and greater than 72 hours.
• Fuel Cells - State of the art technologies to enable the use of ruggedized wearable and portable fuel cells to enable on-the-move and stationary recharging.
• Energy Harvesting - Wearable and portable technologies that enable on-the-move and stationary power generation from alternative or renewable energy sources for austere environments or extended duration missions.
• Power Management & Distribution - High efficiency, lightweight, multi-path, cable-less distribution architectures, innovative management algorithms and advanced power network control standards and applications.
• Non-Fossil Fuel Based Power Generation, Electromechanical Energy Conversion, Advanced Power Source Analysis Tools
• Diagnostic/Prognostic Test & Evaluation Equipment - State-of-the-art test and evaluation equipment that enables accurate identification, examination and forecasting of power & energy technology performance.
Minimum Education:
• Master of Science (MS) in advanced science or engineering degree and/or a minimum of 20 years of progressive experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
