Job Title: Sr Specalist, Project Engineering (Secret) Job Code: 9012 Job Location: Colorado Springs, CO Job Description: L3Harris has an immediate opening for a Sr Project Engineer to lead the execution of Space System project teams and to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule, and lead the implementation and execution of the project. Essential Functions: Responsible for leading a project team, including subcontractors, to meet customer requirements within allocated cost/schedule commitments in growing business area.
Works closely with Program Manager and Program Finance Administrator roles in tracking and using EVMS metrics to track progress and reduce variances.
Create and report on program variances in the proper formats and EVMS techniques.
Assist program project engineer for the program Integrated Master Schedule development and timely execution. Understands and mitigates risks and problems before they cause schedule slip.
Oversees and removes roadblocks for the Program Scheduler role in development and management at a lower level of detail in IMS mechanics.
Leadership stakeholder in developing and managing the program cost baseline.
Assesses engineering issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
Identifies, tracks, mitigates, manages, and dispositions program-level risks and opportunities.
Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product.
Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
Develop a collaborative team environment on quick reaction projects and have regular contact with customers.
Use Earned Value (EV) to guide the success of a project.
Support proposals for new work in a growing business.
Manages staffing procurement and performance.
Manages subcontractors on the program control accounts.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Experience in Government contracts and contract organization.
Experience with Project Engineering, EVMS, and program execution and developing concept solutions through proposal submittal/evaluation.
Experience managing projects with budgets of $10M+.
Experience leading a multi-disciplined team of engineers.
Experience in Root Cause Corrective Action process and techniques.
Experience across a product engineering lifecycle.
Experience in influencing changes to practices, processes and approaches to improve execution across an organization.
Active Secret security clearance required.
Preferred Additional Skills: Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Experience with program pursuit and proposal activities.
Experience in ground based radar space systems operations/engineering.
Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) techniques.
Experience with Government contract acquisition lifecycle a plus.
Experience with management of design to cost activities.
Experience with program pursuit and proposal activities.
Experience with working with subcontractors in meeting their schedule commitments. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $110,500 - $149,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
