Military Ground Vehicle Configuration Management:
The Technical Data Analyst - Configuration Management position is an entry to mid-level position in support of DCS's Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC) Sustainment Engineering Team customer.
Candidate serves as a Technical Analyst responsible for supporting Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) by coordinating the configuration management of military ground vehicles, vehicle systems, and associated technical documentation. In support of the Sustainment Engineering Team, duties shall include Technical Data Package (TDP) reviews; Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) generation; Requests for Variance (RFV) coordination; systems engineering support; evaluation and resolution of technical issues.
Essential Job Functions:
Conducts technical reviews on vehicles, systems, subsystems, components, and spare parts supported by the GVSC Sustainment team to include technical documents: Technical Drawings/TDPs (including Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing), Performance Specifications, System Requirements, Interface Control Documents, and Platform Specifications, and provide technical comments and recommendations concerning the accuracy and completeness of the content.
Reviews and checks technical drawings in support of re-draw efforts and prepares Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Engineering Record Releases (ERR) as needed and in conjunction with Sustainment Engineering Efforts
Conducts technical reviews of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Requests for Variance (RFVs) for vehicles supported by the GVSC Sustainment team, provide technical comments and recommendations concerning the implementation of the proposed changes.
Attends Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, systems engineering meetings, and staff meetings to provide technical analysis, recommendations, and overall project updates.
Oversees and manages Engineering Change workflows, ensures release package integrity, maintains/ensures integrity of CM databases and assists with preparing and conducting Physical Configuration Audits and work package artifacts.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
A Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of experience, Associate's Degree with 4 years of experience, or a High School Diploma and 10 years of experience.
Must have strong skills with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and databases).
Must have good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Desired Skills:
Computer Aided Design and drafting, drawing development.
Familiarity with standard drawing practices per Mil-Std-31000, ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5.
Interpretation and application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
Technical data change/configuration management experience.
Ability to understand mechanical & electrical systems within Ground Vehicle Military Applications. Familiar enough with manufacturing process in order to confirm drawing manufacturability.
An engineering education and/or technical degree.
