DCS is an integral part of developing Army Robotics Common Software (ARCS), which is the Ground Vehicle Systems Center's (GVSC) library of modular software package that can be used for common ground autonomy software. The United States Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC), located in Warren, Michigan, is the United States Armed Forces' research and development facility for advanced technology in ground systems. GVSC and DCS are dedicated to getting robotics capability into the hands of Soldiers.
Essential Job Functions:
This is a pivotal role where you will work with the System Architects of the ARCS to influence design decisions by means of ensuring software architecture meet all of the safety, security, performance and optimization goals.
Technical decision making involves selecting appropriate technologies to ensure scalability, maintainability, and efficient deployment of the ARCS library on different instantiations.
You will act as a lead software integrator that can be tested on simulation and/or vehicle.
Manage software configuration management and work closely with CI/CD team to ensure on-time software release.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security clearance.
5 years of experience with a Bachelor of Science degree, or 3 years experience with a Master's degree or higher in science, engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, aeronautics, safety, or closely related technical discipline.
Proficient in C++/C and experience in working on robotics or autonomous systems, preferably ground autonomy.
Demonstratable collaborative and leadership skills as they are essential for effective communication and alignment with stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation.
Desired Skills:
Experience working with ROS.
Experience developing in an Agile environment.
Model Based Systems Engineering experience.
