We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our team
As a Data Engineer, you will contribute to developing solutions for industry disrupting analytics software
To succeed in this role you will be highly motivated and adaptable to changing needs as our company grows.
Responsibilities:
- Work with analysts, domain experts and senior staff to develop analysis automation tools.
- Develop processing pipelines for remote sensing and geospatial data streams in Google Cloud.
- Perform exploratory data analysis on small and large data sources
Report insights, descriptive statistics and visualizations. - Write data ingestion and processing Python-based programs for application backend cloud microservices.
- Assist data scientists with training dataset preparation.
- Work closely with relational databases and execute complex queries to extract actionable insights from geospatial data.
- Optimize application performance and scalability to ensure flawless operation under heavy load
- conditions.
- Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment automation in a continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) environment.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends related to data processing, geospatial analysis, and cloud computing.
- BS degree in Computer Science (preferred), or STEM field.
- 2 years minimum experience in a Data Engineering role.
- Ability to analyze and process dirty real world data sources into usable information.
- Ability to build Google Cloud Platform highly scalable data processing pipelines for volatile live data streams.
- Knowledge of geospatial data processing tools, python packages and spatial databases
- Knowledge of Automatic Identification System (AIS) marine traffic data is desirable
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment with remotely located staff in different time zones, demonstrating strong communication and coordination skills.
