Job Details

We are immediately hiring for a Field Service Technician with a background in any service categories such as Service categories installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, engineering and consulting, advanced services, extensions, upgrades and retrofits, end of life services, replacements, etc.

We are looking for someone that can be within 3 hours of Prineville, Oregon. This is a home office based position with up to 80% travel to customer locations. You must be willing to be on-call for emergency service requests during the off-hours, weekend and holiday timeframes. We are looking for someone with previous Field Service Technician experience and a proven background and knowledge with 3 phase (208v/480v) power distribution equipment (UPS, PDU, STS, Panelboards, etc.) or similar/relevant Military experience.

In this position, you will provide technical support for GPG Power Protection Service in Electrification Smart Power (ELSP), delivering superior, professional service, remotely or on-site. You will execute Service work according to agreed work flows and in accordance with company's standard processes and safety guidelines, delivering excellent customer service to satisfy customers. In close co-operation with customer and other company internal teams, you will take actions to identify new Service business opportunities for the company. This position will report to the Service Manager.

Your responsibilities in this role:
  • Perform Service tasks, identify technical problems and make analysis through remote or on-site activity in any Service categories (installation and

commissioning, maintenance, repairs, engineering and consulting, advanced services, extensions, upgrades and retrofits, end of life services,
replacements, etc.).
  • Contribute to customer satisfaction by executing Service work according to customer order and expectation. Create and maintain a good relationship

with customers and understand their needs. Identify new sales opportunities and communicate them internally.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and ensure that all materials, parts and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for Service activities.
  • Prepare all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative. Report work done in a timely manner and follow up when needed.
  • Proactively identify potential equipment failures and request proactive corrective actions. Troubleshoot equipment failure and make

recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future.
  • Proactively identify suggestions for product and quality improvement and communicate them further in the organization. Provide

recommendations to management to improve operations and customer service.
  • Apply safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities. Report unsafe practices and incidents.

Your background for this position:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology OR equivalent military experience OR Associates Degree with 2 or more

year's experience in servicing critical power equipment.
  • Will consider High School Diploma/GED and 10 or more years' experience.
  • Advanced level ability to interact and communicate (written and verbal) information to varying levels within the organization.
  • Advanced level of ability to use Microsoft Office products.
  • Moderate ability to self-Project Manage using MS Project or Excel.
  • Advanced ability to write test plans and reports detailing test results.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work in the US.
