Engineers at our Endicott NY location support the following Business Area's
Controls & Avionics Solutions (CAS): In Controls & Avionics Solutions, you will have the opportunity to help define and develop the next generation of avionics - whether it is fly-by-wire flight controls, full authority digital engine controls, or power management. Power & Propulsion Solutions (PPS):
In Power & Propulsion Solutions, we're involved with everything from providing efficient, power management on military vehicles to developing eco-friendly, hybrid and electric systems for the commercial world. Be part of a team that is helping to keep the air we breathe much cleaner. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Typical duties include (based on experience):
Participate in one or more phases of the software life cycle: requirements development, software design/implementation, integration, and verification
Develop software designs and implementations that meet stringent requirements for complex embedded control systems Develop software using Green Hills, ARM Development Studio or other software development environments for embedded targets ranging from PowerPC to multi-core ARM processors
Use existing processes and evolve processes to utilize the most effective new techniques to minimize both design cost and product costHybrid Opportunity Required Education, Experience, & Skills Required Education, Experience, & Skills The following education, skills and experiences are required in order to be considered for the role.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
U.S. Citizenship or U.S. permanent resident
4+ years work experience in embedded software development using C/C++/Assembly languages
Willingness to perform a wide variety of related tasks Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
The below experiences and skills are preferred but NOT required to be qualified for this position. This position is open for a range of career levels and BAE Systems will work with candidates to find a role that best aligns to their experiences.
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
Embedded Software development in C, Assembly programming languages.
Higher level programing & scripting languages such as Python, JAVA, Perl, etc.
Software modeling, such as Matlab/Simulink
Experience in Embedded real-time operating system development Experience with PowerPC, ARM, x86 processor architectures
Real-time embedded low level software development (e.g. device drivers and BSP development)
Hardware/Software integration and debug experience
Familiarity with source control systems and configuration management practice
Experience with Safety Critical or Functional Safety industry standards such as:
DO-178B, DO-178C, IEC 62304, IEC 62368, IEC 61508, ISO 26262 Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $83900 - $142600 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
